Our Pastor

Pastor John Erwin and his wife Rita came to Hopewell Church the day after Christmas, 2000.  They have three sons, two daughters-in-law and three grand-dogs (yes, we said grand-DOGS!).  John was born in Texas, but moved quite a bit, winding up in Birmingham, Alabama, where he met Rita at college, who had come all the way from Flanagan, Illinois to meet him (college was just an excuse).  They both graduated from Southeastern Bible College, got married, and went to Dallas, where John graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary.  He served churches in Fort Wayne, IN and Eureka, Il before coming to Hopewell.
